All accepted abstracts are published as an electronic supplement to the Journal of Sleep Research (JSR), the official journal of the ESRS.

Awards

The European Sleep Science Award will be announced during the Opening ceremony.

Badges

Access to all scientific and networking events will only be possible with your personal badge, which you will receive at the badge printing stations if your registration is fully paid. All participants are requested to wear their name badge throughout the congress. If you forget your badge, we can reprint it for a deposit of EUR 30.00. The deposit will be returned once you show that you still have both badges, of which we will keep one. If you have lost your badge or do not show both badges, EUR 30.00 will be charged.

Scanning of badges: Participants are not obliged to allow exhibitors to scan their badge in the exhibition area or when entering an industry symposia. Participants must show their badge for proof of access rights, but do not need to allow a company to scan it. With allowing a company to scan,you acknowledge that your registration details will be forwarded to the exhibitor.

Certificates

Certificates of attendance indicating the CME credits are available at the end of the congress.

Cloakroom

A cloakroom is available in the congress centre next to the Secretariat during the registration opening hours.

CME Accreditation

More information on accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) will follow soon.

Coffee Breaks

Morning and afternoon coffee breaks are included in the registration fee and are served in the exhibition area.

ESRS Examination in Sleep Medicine

The 9th Examination of Certification in Sleep Medicine and the 7th Examination of Certification in Sleep Medicine for Sleep Technologists will be conducted in September 2020 in Seville, Spain alongside the 25th ESRS Congress. Evaluation

After the congress, you will receive an email with a request to fill in an online survey. Please take a moment to complete the questionnaire. Your answers will be used to evaluate the scientific content of the programme in order to continuously improve it for future meetings.

Filming/Photography/Recording Policy

Filming, photography and audio recording are allowed at ESRS 2020 but permission must be sought in advance via esrs.congress@congrex.com

The ESRS 2020 Congress Secretariat will approve requests on a case-by-case basis. Successful requests will receive a press pass and confirmation letter for a specific time and location. Without this confirmation letter, filming/photographing/recording will only be permitted outside the Main Entrance areas that do not require approval.

Intellectual property copyrights must be respected – any filming or photography of posters/scientific sessions may not be conducted without the permission of the authorised speaker/moderator.

Speakers/moderators are the sole proprietors of the content disclosed (data, photographs, slides etc.) during the posters/scientific sessions and are able to authorise or refuse what can be filmed, photographed or recorded and to what extent this information may be used. Consequently, permission will only be granted if the presenter of the study has authorised filming/photographing/recording of their session.

Permission is needed for filming, taking photographs or making audio recording in the following areas:

  • Scientific sessions
  • Industry-organised satellite sessions
  • Poster Area
  • Registration area

Filming in any other part of the Congress Centre is strictly prohibited.

Any film/photo/recording shall only be used for information and communication purposes and must mention the source of the material.

Artificial light cannot be used during presentations. Flash photography at scientific presentations and plenary sessions is not allowed. ESRS 2020 may interrupt any disruptive or hazardous filming.

Media outlets and press representatives are expected to abide by the ESRS 2020 Embargo Policy.

Insurance

The congress organisers cannot accept liability for personal injuries sustained, or for loss or damage of property belonging to conference participants, either during, or as a result of the meeting. Please check the validity of your own insurance.

Language

The official language of the congress is English.

Lunch

Lunch will be available at cash bars within the exhibition and poster area. Lunch is not included in the registration fee.

Responsibility

The participant acknowledges that she / he has no right to lodge damage claims against the organisers should the holding of the congress be hindered or prevented by unexpected political or economical events or generally by „force majeure“, or should the non-appearance of speakers or other reasons necessitate programme changes. With her / his registration, the participant accepts this provision.

By accepting the general terms and conditions, the participant declares that she / he agrees to its personal and company data being processed by Congrex Switzerland, may be forwarded to the sponsors and exhibitors of the congress and that this data may be used for information purposes on congresses and events in related fi elds organised by Congrex Switzerland. In the opposing case, the participant notifies Congrex Switzerland in written within 5 working days after the registration.

Speakers’ Service Centre (SSC)

The Speakers’ Service Centre (SSC) is connected to all lecture halls and is centrally located within the congress centre. All speakers are asked to hand in their PowerPoint presentations at the SSC at least 2 hours before the start of their lecture.
