Before the congress

Q: Will the virtual conference take place at the same time as previously announced?
A: Almost: Event dates for the virtual event are 22-24 September 2020.

Q: What time zone will the sessions be released in?
A: The official hour of the entire ESRS Virtual Congress is CEST (Central European Summer Time).

Q: Will all sessions and lectures that usually take place at the conference be organized online?
A: Yes, all sessions and lectures will be online. Only a few sessions had to be cancelled due to the new format.

Q: What do I need to attend the virtual conference?
A: You need a valid congress registration via the registration system. A link to log in to the sessions will be sent to you shortly before the congress starts. A webcam is not mandatory to attend the event (for speakers only).

Q: How do I register for the virtual conference?
A: Please use the online registration, all details can be found here.

Q: I have already registered for the Conference in Seville. Am I automatically registered for the virtual conference?
A: Yes, your registration will be changed automatically. The refund of the difference in registration fees will be done in September.

Q: Can I still register for a Teaching Course?
A: Yes, registration is open until Sunday, 20 September 2020, 23:59 CEST. Please use the online registration, click on “Individual registration” and choose the requested course. You will receive an e-mail on Monday, 21 September 2020 with your access link to the course.

Q: How do I purchase and use an exhibitor badge?
A: Our contact persons for the exhibiting companies have been contacted in order to register their staff.

Q: If I wish to cancel my registration, will I receive a refund?
A: Please find the cancellation policy below:

  • All cancellations must be electronically mailed to registration.esrs@congrex.com
  • Registration fees will be refunded as follows:
    • Cancellations received until 15 July 2020: Refund minus 25% handling fee
    • Cancellations received from 16 July until 19 August 2020: Refund minus 50% handling fee
    • No refund on cancellations as from 20 August 2020
    • For any name changes, a fee of € 50 will be charged

Q: I am a presenter / speaker at the conference, what should I do?
A: All invited speakers / presenters have been contacted by the Congress Secretariat on how to register. In case you are not invited, please register as a regular delegate via the online registration.

Q: Can I still change my uploaded presentation / poster?
A: Upload changes can be made directly in the system until 17 September 2020, 23:59 CEST. For changes to the programme please contact abstracts@congrex.com.

Q: What if I am not available during the Conference dates?
A: All sessions will be recorded and made available on demand for up to one month in the Session Library to be viewed by registered delegates.

Q: What do I have access to as a registered participant?
A: You have access to the full Scientific Programme, Virtual Poster exhibition and Poster Networking Lounge, Virtual exhibition and Session Library during the congress and up to 1 month after the congress. Please note that the Teaching Courses need a separate registration.

Q: How do I get access to the sessions?
A: If you have been registered for the virtual congress, please
LOG IN HEREusing the email address that was used for your registration. In case you do not have a password, please use the “forgot password” option in the login box. Once logged in, please click on the “Virtual Congress” button.

Q: I do not see the button leading to the “Virtual Congress”
A: Did you pay your registration fee? Are you logged in with the same email address that you used for your registration?

Q: How do I ask a question or make a comment during a live session?
A: Each live session will be followed by a Q&A session. You can use the chat of the platform to interact with the presenters.Q: Will I be able to network and meet other virtual attendees? A: Yes, you will be able to network with other virtual attendees through the chat. You can see all the connected delegates and start interacting with them via the chat.

Q: How can I access the Business Meeting?
A: The Business Meeting is for ESRS Members only. ESRS Members have received a separate invitation from the society.

Q: In which language are the sessions? Will there be a translation?
A: The congress language is English. However, the keynote lectures as well as the ESRS/SES symposia will be translated into Spanish and displayed with Spanish subtitles.

Q: Will there be an exhibitiong during the congress?
A: Yes, there will be a virtual exhibition - please click here to see the sponsors.

Q: How can I access the virtual exhibition and contact exhibitors?
A: You need to be a registered participant. Once the virtual congress platform is available, please go the exhibit hall and click on the company booth you want to get in contact with. You will see the booth representatives available at the booth and chat with them directly. If you access the booth outside of the official booth opening hours, you can leave them a message and they will contact you as soon as possible.

Q: When can I contact the Help Desk?
A: The helpdesk is available during the following hours:

Q: How do I claim my CME credits?
A: After the congress you will receive an e-mail with an online survey. After completing the survey you can download the certificate directly from your account. Please note that only participants who log in during the Live Congress will be contacted. 

Q: I have missed a session. Can I watch the sessions afterwards?
A: All sessions will be recorded and made available on demand for up to one month in the Session Library to be viewed by registered delegates.
